Cut Map

The Cut Map Calculator is available as a tool by selecting Cut Map from the Job Actions menu.

Enter a source size into the source field, enter a target size into the target field then click View.  The maximum target sized pieces will be displayed on the picture of the source.  The field Up will display the number of pieces. The field Cuts will display the minimum number of cuts required to remove the target sized pieces from the source.

The cut pattern is explained in another window that is opened by clicking the Cuts button.

This same map is available on the offset templates when you are pricing a job.  The source and target sizes will be pulled from the job you are pricing.  If, while you are pricing a job, you open this window and change the source or target size, the Stock Size and Run Size fields on the template will be changed to correspond to the changes made on this form.

If you select Special from the Finished Size pull down on a pricing template, when you enter a finished size and a run size, the quantity up and the number of cuts is calculated using this tool.  The calculations are automatic and occur in the back ground, so you will not see this tool doing them.
