Password Menu on System Table

The PSM password philosophy is to approach security from least to most rather than most to least.  Therefore when securing portions of the program, it is assumed that all users have all rights unless a portion of the program is secured.

DEFINITIONS:

Next decide on group names that will have rights to the secured options. Remember, if an option is not secured, everyone will have rights to it. Group names can be "Entry" and "Accounting" and "Admin".  Or the names can be "Bill" and "Entry" and "Whatever" and "Admin".  You will need one group that has overall rights to ALL secured options.  That group can be a person's name or "Administrator" or "Boss" or whatever you need it to be.

Next click the Add button to add the main group that has overall rights. Add a password.  The password can be left blank for some of the other groups, but should not be blank for the main group.  Be sure to write down the name and password.  Now the list for the main group should be open. If the list is not open, click the Open List button.  Click the blank line at the bottom of the list, then click the drop down arrow to add to the list.  Add every option you wish to secure.  Adding an option to this list or any list will tell the system it needs to be secured.  If an option is not on a list it is not secured and is available to any user.  Be sure to add "Maintenance" and "Main Password Screen" to the main group.  This will prevent others from changing their rights.  Now put a check in the Require Login checkbox.

Now you can add the other groups you have decided that you need. With each new group added you will add only the rights you wish them to have.
