Remove Stock Size From Bindery Relations

If you have added stock to bindery size relations and you wish you hadn't or your relations table contains useless relations, you can remove them.  The database back end technology used in PSM is call Microsoft Jet.  It was used because it is very, very fast at navigating large amounts of data.  Which means that having 200,000 records in your stock to bindery relational table will not slow down the program.  You will not see any performance improvement by removing records.

You should only remove records if you find you are often maintaining the pricing produced by the table and you would like to make it more manageable.  You should also be very familiar with the way PSM uses the table before you start trimming it down.  Having said that, the program will protect you if you remove a record you need.  When you try to calculate a value for a bindery option that is missing all relations records for that stock, the program will tell you that you need to add it back.

This form will show you all the sizes that are defined in the bindery to stock relations table.  You select the one you wish to remove then click continue.

This next form shows you every stock, bindery combination at the size you selected.

The stocks listed will have a relation to one or more of the bindery options listed.  So removing one stock to one bindery option will not remove them from the list.  Selecting one stock and all bindery options will remove that stock from the list.  Select the combination of stock and bindery that you wish to remove.  If you click Check All on the stock list and Check All on the bindery list all the combinations for that size will be deleted.  If you have selected the bindery option for CUTTING and if the size to be removed is the Parent Size or is defined in the cost table of one of the stocks you select, it will not be deleted.  If you remove the relations for a CUTTING bindery option from a stock for a size that is not defined in the costs for that stock, and if later you need to cut down from that removed size, the program will use values from a size that is in the costs table without asking for the deleted record.

Next click the Remove Records Button.

A confirmation question will pop up.
