You will want to add an Action to a Bindery Option if the option requires two or more independent steps or Actions to complete. For example to place a coil into a booklet first requires that you punch the holes into the end or side of the booklet, then you insert the coil. This is two steps. Not all Bindery Options require more than one Action and some of the ones in Print Shop Manager cannot be given more than one Action. For example, the option to cut stock into smaller sizes is an option that is automatically added to the Bindery requirements on a job when the program sees that cutting is required. When the program automatically adds a requirement it cannot add multiple requirements.
When you click the Add Action button on the Bindery form, this is the first screen you will see.
If we were on the Book Bind - Coil Bindery form when we clicked Add Action the name of the option Book Bind - Coil will be in the "For This Option" field.
You will enter the name of the Action you wish to define as another one of the Book Bind - Coil Actions into the "Create This Action" field. Below that field in the "From This Option" drop down you will select an Option that has a similar action to the one you are adding. After you select the Option, select the Action within that Option that you want to use as a starting point for the Action you are creating.
When you click continue the new Action will be created using Action you selected as a source for the Sheets2Bindery relations and the Lift tables. It will also have the same formula as the source Action and the same discount tables.
